¶ How to perform a Full Sign Out
- Start by right clicking the Windows Icon in the bottom left of the task bar.
- Hover your mouse cursour over the “Shut down or sign out” option.
- You can then click the “Sign out” option from the expanded options.
¶ How does a sign out differ from just disconnecting?
When you disconnect from the server it keeps all the apps you were using open so that they are ready to be used when you next sign back in. Signing out will cause all these apps to fully close. Signing out will also force your user to get the most up to date permissions when you next sign in.
¶ Reasons you may need to perform a full sign out
- You may be asked to perform a full sign out by Secure-ISS staff after changes have been made to your account or your accounts permissions to allow the changes to properly apply.
- A full sign out can be used to force frozen or otherwise unresponsive applications to close.
- Performing a full sign out when you are not actively on the server will free up server resources for users who are still activly working on the server
