The “RDP Direct Connect” feature enables a Privileged User to download an RDP shortcut to their Desktop from Password Safe and access the Shared Account and Target Asset without having to login to the PAM Web interface. This feature is available in most installations.
Note: RDP Direct Connect supports only push two-factor authentication. An access-challenge response is not supported.
Once this has been completed once, the downloaded RDP file can be used going forwards.
Each Asset/ Account that a user wishes to access has a distinct RDP download.
AS with any request in Password Safe, access policies are applied to these connection types. Depending upon the Access Policy, an approval workflow may need to be followed by your organisation to access the asset. If this is the case a message displays “Request requires approval. If the request is not approved within 5 minutes, this connection will close.”
After five minutes, the RDP client disconnects, and you can send another connection request. When the request is approved, you are automatically connected.
